July 20th

It's another rainy day Monday, but at least the drought is pretty much over in Florida. :-) Hope everyone had a good weekend and found time to relax and recharge their bodies for the week ahead. This past weekend I finally caught up on all the housework I didn't have time to do with the yard sale last weekend and the work week. My house is spic & span clean, the laundry is all done and the yard work is even done except for the weedwacking and the weeding of the cactus garden. I even found time to take a nap or two and watch a few older movies on the cable on demand station.

Next weekend will be a busy one for me because D has his monthly weekend off and we always find so much to do. If the weather cooperates he would like to go to Old town FL http://www.old-town.com/. He likes the antique car show's they have every sat and I love walking through the old general stores. We have not been there in a while so it should be fun. There is also a huge Flea market somewhere nearby there also and we all know how much i love those. Where we live in Florida is ideal because there is so much to do in this area within driving distance.

**Daytona Beach (and other beaches) approx 1 hr east.
**Sanford Zoo- 30 min
**Kennedy space center a little more then 1 hr southeast (we can see the shuttle go up from our front yard)
**Old Town 45 mins
**Disney Parks(40 mins south)
**Gulf coast (approx 1 1/2 hrs west)
** Other attactions Universal Studios, Sea World, Busch Gardens (not sure how far they are but within driving distance)
** Silver springs FL - they have glass bottom boats, concerts etc (about an hour north)

We do not go to all these places all the time but its nice that they are nearby when our kids/grandkids come visit. Most of the time we just go to The Villages FL or Mount Dora FL (http://www.whattodoinmtdora.com/about/) both of these towns have beautiful lakes, local small shops, and entertainment such as art shows, music, etc. Never a boring time in our area. If we were both retired we would always have something to do....but that will never happen *sigh*. Who could afford to retire in this economy. I am about to run to the store before I start working at 1 today. Hope everyone has a wonderful week ahead.
