Spent the week of Sept 19th on vacation just taking a bunch of day trips. Went on Monday to Disney downtown which is a fun place to go if you love disney. There are shops there, Disney, lego store, movie theaters, A hot air balloon ride (which you will never catch me on), We walked from one side of Disney downtown stopping at the little shops, watching the hot air balloon, had lunch at one of the cafes and took the boat shuttle back to the beginning.
Tuesday we just stayed local went out to lunch and took a walk in down town Mount Dora which is a nice little town with little shops and parks. Also went to a thrift store that is going out of business. I got a bunch of books that were 10 for $1 hardback and paperback books. I now have enough books to last me about a year autobiographies, Danielle Steel, and even got a few V C Andrews books for my sister.
Wednesday we went to visit with a friend of mine from high school that moved to Homosassa, Florida. We had a wonderful day for the hour and half ride and really enjoyed finally getting a chance to take our new car for a long ride. While there Kathleen took us to Homasassa State wildlife park were i was finally able to see manatees. They are so ugly they are cute. :-) It was a really nice day for that type of activity, a little cloudy so it was really hot. We were also able to see a hippo who is an honorary resident of Florida and will spend the rest of his life in the park. Other animals we saw were bears, cougars, birds, and alligators. Hubby even enjoyed himself on this trip.
We had a lot of fun spending time together that week which is something we don't get to do often considering our work schedules rarely are the same. In Oct we are going to see the new Legoland theme park that is opening up Oct 15th. We were able to get 2 free passes with our Lego VIP cards. Then in Nov when D is on vacation again we are going to Disney Parks thanks to a friend of mine that worked there and gave us 2 park hopper passes. I wanted to wait until Disney decorated for Xmas to go because I have never seen the parks decorated for the holidays.
